Holidaze are officially over!

As we all know, Thanksgiving is the kick off to the holidays. Everyone has this mentality that they can eat whatever they want and lose the weight after. Personally, I think people are digging themselves into a hole by thinking this way. Self control is key during the holidays and I'm glad to say that I conquered food instead of it conquering me. Working out on the other hand took it's toll on me because I caught a really bad cold and I could barely talk: TRAGEDY!!!!

Now that Christmas, NYE and my birthday (1/6) are in the past, it's time to #MakeEveryMoveCount! Caffeine will be consumed as little as possible and will be replaced with green tea. According to Hollywood trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, it's a great idea to start your day with a cup of green tea to boost your fat burning. Working out with Nike Training Club has really been motivational and inspiring. Those models are amazing! And, I'm 15 minutes away from racking up 1000 minutes of nike training club workouts!

So with this new year rolling, losing another 30lbs+ is my ultimate goal. I've learned how to work out at home and the results are a very intense circuit training workout.

Also, at the end of the month we will be giving a baby Shih Tzu "Andy" a home and moving out into a new place. See, new beginnings!!! I hope that God blesses every single one of you in your new year's resolutions as I'm leaning on God for His will upon my life !

To some, this temperature is not a big deal but I'm from California where this is freezing to most of the population. Did I mention I have a cold??? Time was mediocre: 16 minutes for 2 miles... not my best but I still feel amazing. Have a blessed day world!

Once again, I've allowed a huge gap between my last post and now.
Between work, health/fitness and wifey duties, it becomes a task to find energy to sit in front of my computer and blog/edit photos. I have to retrain myself to relax and not always do everything and delegate responsibilities and duties.

With that being said, the last time I uploaded anything to Flickr was in August. More to come from our adventures in Los Angeles, Chicago, birthday events and Christmas :)

This is a true Michelada. This spot is the best one in town. This michelada was made with Victoria beer, pineapple juice and a special chili powder which I wouldn't doubt had tamarindo ... absolutely delish!

Traffic Court..... again

I have so much to say about this morning's trip to the traffic court. One thing is for sure, this one is definitely the most interesting.

For starters, I seemed to miss the big sign that read "Restricted Parking". At around 8am, when the doors were supposed to open, one of the policemen come out on a loud speaker and begin to give us some general info. Let's just say that I went to move my car, to avoid being towed, and left my pocket knife in my car in order to avoid a misdemeanor.

I just so happened to have a 70 year old lady that stood in line with me and later on sat next to me in traffic court. She was a character and quite comical. It's funny how much you learn about a person while standing in line with them. They become your "friend" for a brief moment. I never even asked her name. Her story is as follows: she got a speeding ticket for going 6 miles over the speed limit. She worked for city schools district as a librarian and is now laid off. She recently lost her $50k mobile home that she could not afford to pay for the space anymore. She told me that a company went in and began to raise the space rent every 6 months. It went from a little over $300 all the way up to over $900. We're talking about a senior park mind you. So she had to lose it because she couldn't find anyone to rent it out and is unable to claim it as a loss since it's paid off. Now she's struggling to make ends meet with the minimal disability that she gets. I felt really bad for her. I almost wanted to pay for her traffic school. Her appearance would never determine the strong personality that she has rather she reeks of a strong personality that of a surviving Cancer patient, which she is.

While sitting in court, the bailiff was giving us some general information when another office walked in and whispered something in his ear. He exits through the door behind him. A few minutes later, he and 2 other officers are pretty much dragging this guy through the court and then exiting through a door where the judge enters. Weird? Yeah, slightly. You'd think they would escort the man out the front door. But, I guess it may have all been a little "show". The bailiff enters the court room gasping for breath and informs us that he was making a big deal about turning off his cell phone. Wow, I guess better turn off those cell phones.

Last but not least, the cases. The only thing I can recall is a 19 year old getting fined for having someone in the trunk. Yeah, was he killing that person? No! He said he was at a gas station and assumed someone saw the drunk passenger get out lol. He claimed there was no more room to sit. The judge dismissed the charges because she found it completely hilarious and claimed, "it's one of the best stories ever."

Other than that, ALWAYS have insurance. Otherwise, risk getting an $800 ticket that will NOT be reduced or dismissed EVER. Unless, you were insured at the time of the ticket but had no proof. I hate traffic court!

Feeling a bit nostalgic as I browse through my Flickr account.

This year has been a roller coaster of events... from my first wine tasting experience to becoming engaged.

It's a bit ironic considering I am in an AT&T corporate building yet my cellular and 3G services weren't working. Thank God for those 2wire wifi's!! ^_^

So it's slow at work today and I realized as I was sitting here looking for some entertainment, that I had a blog. :) It has definitely been a long time since the last time I posted. I've been M.I.A. on most forums including my blog. I haven't even had the time to upload a ton of new pictures to my flickr account. Hopefully, I'll get to do that this weekend! From trips to Half Moon Bay, Monterrey Bay, SF, LA and visiting the parentals and bf's parents.... it's been tough to stay caught up with my virtual fam! I just got back from my one week vacation in Mexico. Met up with lots of family members out there from Chicago and SoCal. I had a blast! Hopefully, I'll be uploading pictures tonight!! Stay tuned, I have a huge life changing decision to update you all on!!

Holidaze & Merry Born Day Luis

The Holidaze phase has officially begun and will continue until my birthday in January next year.
It has always been kicked off beginning Thanksgiving and it just keeps on going.
I come from a pretty large family and we use any excuse to have a cook out and get together.
Thanksgiving is no exception... it usually turns into a 4 day family gathering and I can't say that I hate it.

Today, we will continue with the festivities and celebrate my cousin Luis' 18th birthday!
I love all my cousins and Luis is no exception. I am pretty proud of him to say the least.
He's a great student, enrolled in AP classes in high school, member of his high school's varsity wrestling team (and you gotta give any guy props for wearing those singlets), he plans to join the Navy and attend college out of state; he already has a few picked out. I have helped him write his personal statement and I can tell you that he doesn't settle for less. We usually have debates because he always thinks he's correct which isn't always the case. I will admit that I have learned a lot from him. My favorite characteristic of his is his independence of other's opinions. I'm glad that he isn't the stereotype teenager following the masses but on the contrary, he has goals and is actively working towards them. I can say a high volume of good things about my cousin, even the fact that I used to change his diapers and feed him (I swear, I'm not that old). Anyway, he's one of four cousins graduating from high school this coming year and I'm extremely grateful for that.

So, from your favorite big cousin, Happy Birthday Luis, or should I say "Pollito"! Love ya!!!

It's something I've never done before but, my friend is one of those people who assists you with discovering different talents within you. It's not hard to tell that my blog has been neglected in a major way.
Thoughts of keeping this blog or migrate to tumblr or even purchase my own domain have been running through my mind the last few days. Well, the thought pops into my head and I entertain it a bit and then somehow it fades.

Every few months or so, I find myself googling my own blogspot until I realize that logging into gmail also logs me into the blog (doh). Yeah, how's that for a regular blogger?

I did, though, decide to change my url as well as the heading to this dead blog in efforts of it's revival. It may very well change, it may not. The name NelBellz was given to me earlier this year by a Dutch friend.... I assume he decided that a combination of my name and my "then" favorite women "streetwear" line, Hellz Bellz, was a good nickname. The nickname stuck so much that I adopted it as my twitter screen name. I can't seem to get rid of Mizz Kickz as it has been my alias for over 5 years.

As I was reviewing my old posts all I could say was, "wow". That's not a very positive wow either. My other thoughts were, "Who's really interested in reading what I have to say in the midst of the blog era where everyone who is everyone has a blog?" The answer to that question will soon be answered as I begin to post. Quite honestly, I don't have the most positive opinions in regards to blogs. I don't really invest my time in reading blogs. As a matter of fact, the last blog I used to read religiously was The Hundreds and I can't recall the last time I read it, maybe last year or early this year. Enough of that.

So my plans may consist of posting shots from my flickr and maybe explain or give a caption to each one. One thing I really enjoy in life is Music and Photography. Traveling is also high ranking amongst what I enjoy doing. I think that's it for tonight.

One last note: I can't believe I'm blogging lol.

Traffic Tickets! YIKES! And an Update!

Yo!
So I've been gone for a really long period of time.
Things have changed and things are good! I cannot complain!

So about the traffic tickets, I just came home from the Pleasonton Superior Court to pay for my damn traffic tickets and traffic school that equaled to a grand total of $302! Damn, I could have spent that on something else! Slow down ya'll!

Since the last post, I've graduated from college with Honors and an Associates Degree in Computer Networking Systems. Yay! I was siked about that! Finally, I'm done and I can relax and live life! Well, maybe for only a short time because I plan to return to the source of knowledge once again. I really want to get my Cisco certification.

I've also moved out of my crib! Time to grow up right? I guess so. It was really wierd, it wasn't something I had planned really. It just sord of happened. So now, me and my best friend and her brother are living in a small home in the Downtown San Jose area. We're right around the corner from Valley Faire Mall, Premier, Connoisseur, and not to mention Santana Row. For those of you that don't know, Valley Faire is an upscale mall featuring Louis Vuiton, Gucci, and Tiffany & Co amongst other specialty stores (that I woudln't shop at). I especially love the MAC Pro store and MetroPark.

As far as sneakers are concerned, not much goin on there. The last pair that I bought were the Aqua VIII's which I almost passed on. My boy pharO from Sneakerplay, asked me to be a blogger on The Syndication which is an honor to join him and another buddy Vulkan. Check the site out! It's dope!

Anyway, that's it for now! Oh yeah, Huf II's are coming! Air Max 90 and Air Max 87 aka "Air Max 1" with the Huf signature stamp are coming! Can't wait!

I have been gone and away from updating this blog of mine.
From my cousin moving out here from Chicago, to HufQuake AF1's, Untiffany Dunks, and I'm almost done with school in June!

I haven't been to a Lupe Fiasco show since November, and who knows how many show's he's done since! The Coachella Arts and Music Festival is out of the question because it's sold out. I was trying to go on Sunday when Lupe Fiasco and The Roots were performing.

So the whole 25th Anniversary of the Air Force 1 has been bananas!
There is no way any normal person can keep up with all of the releases!
I mean unless you stackin some major loot..... props to you.....
the rest of you are probably going broke charging them kickz to that plastic.....
and if you like me, you just gotta practice self control.

Does anybody care about the new Vista OS?? Because I don't really care for it.
I'm completely happy with XP OS. Although, the AERO feature of VISTA is hella cool!
In my opinion, I just think that MS is just trying to compete with Apple.

As the time goes on, I find that it is getting real hard to find what I like in my size ever since I've decided to stray away from the whole Retro J's scene and gotten into rocking sneakers that are a bit harder to find. I've settled to the point that I'll wear a 6.5y when I love the 6y fit. That doesn't seem to help either.
Well, I'm about due for a trip and visit to the city that I love oh so much... you know it... The city of Dope... SFC. I love that place.

So I finally got the Venue info on the Lupe Show...
Well, it actully turns out that it's a Talib Kweli Show Featuring the amazing Lupe Fiasco.
I don't know if you all are familiar with either of these artists, but they are fire! Talib Kweli has been out for a minute and if you don't know already, him and Mos Def make up Blackstar (which, I might add, have made amazing hip hop). Lupe, on the other hand, has been out for a few years but has only recently been recognized on a broader scale. He was featured on Kanye West's "Touch the Sky" single (I thought it was Kanye on the entire track). I am pretty sure that you all have already heard of his first single "Kick Push", from his upcoming solo album titled "Food and Liquor", due September 19. I have noticed that he has been performing and has a new single out along with a new video for "I Gotcha", which happends to be so dope. I recently seen him perform in San Francisco and he tore that place up! That did it for me to become a committed fan which is why I am posting this for all of you to read. I am a very very tough critic when it comes to music and I have to admit that Lupe Fiasco is definitely bringing something different to the table that has been lacking in today's hip hop, not Rap as some of you may want to call it. Stay very very tuned into Lupe Fiasco because he will be doing big things! Oh and by the way, his set at the ROCK THE BELLS FESTIVAL in Concord, CA on August 6, 2006 was off tha hook! I haven't heard Red come out in a minute but he kept it oh so fresh! Right Monique? The whole concert was definitely worth my every $55 dollars I spent!
